Eagles name Pacific Four traveling squad

A 28-player traveling squad has been named by Eagles coach Rob Cain for next month’s Pacific Four competition. The USA will play tests against Australia, Canada, and hosts New Zealand as part of their preparation for October’s World Cup, also taking place in New Zealand.

As expected the squad leans heavily on the USA’s overseas contingent with only seven playing their club rugby domestically. It could be a quick turnaround for several members of the squad with both Saracens and Exeter set to compete in the Premier 15s finals at the end of May.

There are two uncapped inclusions – San Diego Surfers lock Evi Ashenbrucker and Beantown scrumhalf Bridget Kahele. The door is not closed on the 14 members of the longlist named last week, with the final World Cup selection to be comprised of 30 players.
