Pumas great Joaquín Tuculet has retired from rugby. His playing career ends at the age of 32. He played for Los Pumas 2012-2019, earning 56 caps and played in RWCs 2015 and 2019.
He retired from international duty in 2020, doing so ahead of the Tri Nations in Australia. He moved north to Canada to join the Toronto Arrows in Major League Rugby. It saw him adding to his detailed resumé which include playing in the United Rugby Championship (URC) for the Cardiff Blues, the English Premiership for the Sale Sharks and the Top 14 for Grenoble and Bordeaux.
Tuculet returned from Europe to Argentina in 2016. He played Super Rugby for Los Jaguares from 2016-2019. From 2008-2010 he played for Argentina u19, u20 and Sevens. He joined the Pampas XV and then made his test debut for Argentina in 2012.
As a Puma he scored tries against every Tier 1 opponent aside from Wales. He was in winning efforts against Australia, Chile, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Tonga, the USA, and Wales.
He featured in RWCs 2015 and 2019, appearing in six matches and scoring four tries. His final test was against the USA in Kumagaya. Despite defeating both Australia and South Africa, his test career highlight was arguably his score against Ireland in Cardiff, Wales in RWC 2015. Two years later, in June 2017, he scored the official Try of the Year against England in Santa Fé.
