Canada and USA set for Pacific Four in June

Fixtures for the upcoming Pacific Four tournament have now been confirmed. Canada and the USA will compete in a round-robin format against New Zealand and Australia with games taking place between June 6 and 18. All games will be hosted by New Zealand in preparation for the World Cup.

Canada were deemed champions of the ‘inaugural’ Pacific Four tournament in 2021, defeating the USA in back-to-back games in Denver. Sponsorship purposes saw the event keep its title despite only two teams taking part. This will be the first edition of the new fully-fledged competition that will be an annual fixture for the four teams.

It will be a tight turnaround for the North American players, many of whom will be involved in the Premier 15s until the middle of May, with the Final scheduled for June 3. The Australian Super W completed its season this past weekend while New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki was limited to just three rounds in March due to the pandemic.
