Pablo Matera’s Man of the Match performance for Crusaders

Pablo Matera was man of the match for the Crusaders against the Melbourne Rebels on Sunday. Played in Melbourne, Australia, the Crusaders were convincing 42-17 winners. The result takes the Crusaders up one place to 3rd and sees the team on a 7-2 Super Rugby 2022 record.

Matera started for the Crusaders at flanker. The Puma was surrounded by All Blacks, including George Bridge, Jack Goodhue, Richie Mo’unga, Sevu Reece, Codie Taylor, Sam Whitelock and Ethan Blackadder who was the scorer of two tries.

Matera was voted Man of the Match by the fans. He was preferred to the aforementioned list of All Blacks. The numbers support him winning the award. Matera carried for 99 meters from a total of 13 carries and defeated 5 defenders with ball in hand.

The Crusaders’ upcoming three matches are also all in Australia. The Christchurch-based side will face the Waratahs in Sydney, the Western Force in Perth and the Brumbies in Canberra.
