Match Officials confirmed for RWC Qualifiers and Mid-year tests

World Rugby have confirmed match official appointments for the upcoming mid-year tests, including the Americas 2 World Cup Qualifier series between the USA and Chile. Also confirmed is a warm-up fixture for the Eagles against the French Barbarians, while the Cóndores remain in talks with Scotland about a potential match prior to the latter’s opening tests against Argentina on July 2. Canada have no fixtures currently listed after failing to qualify for RWC 2023 this past October.

Australia’s Damon Murphy and England’s Luke Pearce have been appointed for the Qualifiers, the first to take place in Santiago on July 9 and the second at Glendale on July 16. England’s Adam Leal, who has previously refereed in Major League Rugby, will take charge of the French Barbarians match at a venue to be confirmed on July 2.

There are no senior referee appointments for match officials from the Americas, though a handful will have other roles. Argentina quartet Damián Schneider, Nehuén Jauri Rivero, Tomás Bertazza, and Gonzalo de Achaval have been handed assistant referee positions. Canada will have Moe Chaudhry as assistant referee for the first Qualifier in Chile and Chris Assmus as the TMO for the French Barbarians match.
