Francisco Gorrissen signs to stay at Vannes in Pro D2

Los Pumas’ flanker Francisco Gorrissen is staying put. The 27-year-old has signed to stay at Vannes in the Pro D2 next season. Gorrissen arrived earlier this season as a medical joker from Argentina. His arrival took place following the 2021 Rugby Championship.

Gorrissen has been a mainstay in Vannes’ back-row. He has made 17 appearances in the Pro D2 this season, 13 of them being in the starting XV. He has also crossed for three tries.

Gorrissen is a native of Buenos Aires. He previously played professional rugby in South America. He played Super Rugby for Los Jaguares and Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) for Los Jaguares XV. He was a champion in the 2021 competition.

His regular position is flanker though he has played N8 for Los Jaguares XV. He is a product of Belgrano Athletic in Buenos Aires. He is 1.91m tall and weighs 106kg.

Gorrissen has three caps for Los Pumas. He made his test debut against Australia in 2020. Fellow Vannes back-rower Rodrigo Bruni also played in that match. Bruni will move to Brive next season. Brive will be Bruni’s first experience in the Top 14.

Vannes are currently building their roster for the 2022-2023 Pro D2 season. Among the new arrivals will be another Argentine back-rower. Bautista Pedemonte will join the team from SLAR for the new season. Vannes is also home to Uruguayan center Nicolás Freitas.
