Santiago Grondona signs Exeter extension

Argentine international Santiago Grondona has re-signed with Exeter Chiefs. The club has not clarified the length of the 23-year-old’s new contract though it’s believed to be a multi-year agreement. His current deal was due to expire at the end of the season.

Grondona has made 13 appearances for Exeter across all competitions this season, including four starts in the Premiership. Notably those starts have come at the No8 position, though he is considered primarily a flanker for Los Pumas.

Since making his test debut against New Zealand in November 2020, Grondona has won 6 caps for Los Pumas. After suffering a knee injury in February of last year he returned to play in the November 2021 tests against Italy and Ireland.
