Impressive Four Argentine tries in London Irish Premiership win

An impressive four Argentine tries were scored in today’s match between London Irish and the Worcester Warriors. London Irish were 43-12 winners. Pumas Agustín Creevy, Facundo Gigena, Lucio Cinti, and Juan Martín González all started and three of them were try scorers.

Creevy’s two tries today take his English Premiership season total up to 11 tries. This is the most of all players in the English Premiership.

London Irish are enjoying a strong English Premiership season. If the regular season were to finish today then the club would be back in the playoffs after a long delay. London Irish are presently 4th and are close to both the Harlequins and Saracens.

The form of Creevy, Gigena, Cinti and González suggests that all will be on the radar for international duty in 2022. Argentina is presently without a head coach; Mario Ledesma resigned last month. Creevy is a former captain under both Daniel Hourcade and Ledesma.

Gigena, Cinti and González all made their test debuts under Ledesma in 2021. Of them only Gigena had previous experience for Los Jaguares in Super Rugby. It was brief and he subsequently moved to the Leicester Tigers.

The Leicester Tigers remain top spot of the English Premiership. Cinti and Creevy play in the same positions as Tigers’ Matías Moroni and Julián Montoya. They provide each other healthy competition; there are plenty of options across the board for the incoming Pumas head coach.
