Wasps extend contract of Pumas prop Rodrigo Martínez

Wasps have extended the contract of Argentina international prop Rodrigo Martínez. The 23-year-old signed on in November until the end of the current season. He is now committed to the English Premiership side until at least the end of the 2022-2023 campaign.

It has been a rapid rise for Martínez over the past year. After impressing with Olímpia Lions in SLAR, he made his test debut for Los Pumas against Australia in September. The loosehead specialist has made just three appearances for Wasps to date but has shown enough for the club to retain his services.

Unfortunately for Martínez it could be several months until he makes his fourth appearance for Wasps. He suffered an Achilles injury in the warm-up prior to the game against Saracens earlier this month and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.
