Selknam Roster – SLAR 2022

Selknam has named a comprehensive roster for SLAR 2022. Year three of the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby will see the Chilean side looking to build upon what were positive seasons in 2020 and 2021.

The roster is easily the largest of the six SLAR rosters for the upcoming season. It has been named with an eye firmly on the Rugby World Cup 2023 qualifying series wherein Chile will face the USA in home-and-away matches. Selknam provided Chile with the best prepared and most talented roster the country has ever seen to take-on, and defeat, Canada in 2021.

Listed below, the player roster is comprehensive across all positions. The players are listed in their regular position as projected for the purposes of Selknam.  Santiago Videla, for instance, is listed at fullback though played at both inside center and fly half for Selknam in 2021. He was fullback for Chile in 2021.

All but four of the Selknam players are Chileans. Two of the four from abroad are fly halves. Lucas Fertonani is from Santa Fé, Argentina while Juan Zuccarino is from MVCC in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The additional foreign names are Argentine players. Former Ceibos and Jaguares XV Franco Molina is now a Selknam player and Argentine prop Franco Pecchia will have his first experience of professional rugby.
