Olímpia Lions – 2022 SLAR Roster

Paraguay’s professional rugby team, the Olímpia Lions have confirmed a 40-man roster for the upcoming SLAR season. The Olímpia Lions will play in their third season of the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby; however, unlike 2020 and 2021, the team will play matches in Paraguay in 2022.

The roster is hybrid; it combines Paraguayans and Argentines. There are players from the two countries across all positions. Notable Argentines include hooker Mariano Muntaner, back-rowers Ignacio Gandini and Mariano Romanini, scrum-half Ignacio Inchauspe, winger Matías Sauze and fullback Julián Quetglas.

Another Argentine on the roster is Arturo López. It should be noted that he is from Argentina but is eligible to play for Paraguay through ancestry.
