Los Cafeteros Pro has signed two players from Estudiantes de Paraná. The Colombian SLAR entrant have recruited Argentine high performance players Tomás Bertot and Juan Bautista Mernes. Both players are former Pumitas and come from the same club – Estudiantes de Paraná.
Bertot and Mernes will both play in their rookie season of the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby in 2022. They join a third player from Entre Rios in Estanislao Arrías from Tilcara who has joined the Olímpia Lions for the upcoming SLAR season.
Bertot is aged 22. He narrowly missed out on selection for Los Pumitas for the 2019 Junior World Championship. His natural position is at tight head prop. Mernes is 20 years-old. He made his first appearances at senior level in 2021. His natural position is flanker.
The complete player roster for Los Cafeteros Pro’s 2022 season is forthcoming. It will contain a combination of Argentine players and Colombians.
