Selknam recruit Argentine fly half Lucas Fertonani

Selknam have recruited Argentine fly half Lucas Fertonani. The move sees the Chilean Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) franchise adding a reliable goal-kicker to their roster for the new season.

Fertonani was the top point scorer in the 2021 Litoral championship, a regional competition wherein he played for his club Santa Fé. The 21-year-old is now to be a professional rugby player for the first time. He will be up against countrymen when he pulls on the Selknam shirt in SLAR 2022.

The official Selknam roster for the 2022 season is forthcoming. Fertonani is the second foreign-player confirmed for the 2022 season. He joins Uruguayan Juan Zuccarino in joining the Chilean team. Zuccarino has previously played for Uruguay ‘A’.
