Olímpia Lions recruit four Argentines with a Córdoba accent

2021 SLAR semi finalists, the Olímpia Lions have signed four Argentines so far for the 2022 season. The four have a Córdoba accent, they are from Córdoba Atheltic, La Tablada, Tala and Universitario.

Córdoba XV report that front-rower Conrado Iglesias (Universitario), flanker Federico Simondi (Tala) , scrum half Facundo Villalba (Córdoba Athletic), and fullback Julián Quetglas (La Tablada) have signed for the Olímpia Lions.

Julián Quetglas is a former Argentine u20’s player. He won Gold for Argentina at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Facundo Villalba played for Argentina u20’s on the 2021 tour of South Africa. The 2022 SLAR season will be the first for all four Argentine players. All are uncapped.

Also joining the Olímpia Lions is Brazil’s physical trainer, Juan Manuel Brizuela. He moves from Brazil to Paraguay after four years. His new position will be working for the Unión de Rugby del Paraguay.
