Stephen Brett promoted to Head Coach of Rugby ATL

Stephen Brett has been promoted to Head Coach of Rugby ATL. The 36-year-old New Zealander fills the spot left vacant following the sudden resignation of Scott Lawrence last week. This is Brett’s second season with the team. He was previously an Attack Coach with the Colorado Raptors.

Brett is best known for his career as a professional player, most notably with the Crusaders and Blues in Super Rugby. He was a Junior All Black and also represented the New Zealand Māori. Before retiring as a player in 2018, Brett spent two years in Japan and five in France.

Blake Bradford’s is now officially Assistant Head Coach having served as Forwards and Defense Coach in 2021. He has been with the team since their inception and previously Head Coach of Life University, transitioning to Assistant under Colton Cariaga before switching to ATL.

Completing the coaching lineup is Lucas Baistrocchi. The team’s Strength & Conditioning Coach this past season, he now adds the role of Skills Coach. Baistrocchi is originally from Argentina but represented the USA South Panthers as a player.
