Matt Giteau is playing on with the LA Giltinis in 2022 Major League Rugby (MLR). The veteran of 103 test caps for Australia will play for the Los Angeles side in the upcoming season.
Giteau had a strong season with LA in 2021. He touched down twice in the try zone in the MLR Final victory against Rugby ATL. The former Wallaby will be looking to add a second title as he plays on at the age of 39.
Giteau has been a professional rugby player for over two decades. He played Super Rugby for the Brumbies and Western Force from 2001-2011 before moving abroad. He was a part of the Toulon side that won the European Champions Cup in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and the Top 14. He was a Super Rugby champion in 2004 and played in Japan for Suntory Sungoliath from 2017–2020.
The 2022 MLR season begins on February 05. The Giltinis will begin with an away match against the Houston SaberCats in Texas. The first match in Los Angeles will be in week four against the New England Freejacks on February 27.
