Lucio Sordoni joins Mont de Marsan subject to visa

Lucio Sordoni will continue his career in France. The Pumas tight head has signed for Pro D2 side Mont de Marsan. His move to France is presently being finalized; it is subject to a work visa.

He makes the move ahead of the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) season. Sordoni had been training with Los Jaguares XV at Casa Jaguares in Buenos Aires.

Sordoni’s contract with the Pro D2 club is until the end of the 2021-2022 season. It is understood that the player will have the option of an extension.

Mont de Marsan are competing for a return to the Top 14. After 18 rounds of the season the club are well placed with 66 competition points. Mont de Marsan are presently second to Oyonnax.

The club is home to a healthy contingent of Argentines. They are hooker José Luis González, center Lucas Mensa, N8 Santiago Montagner, loose head prop Carlos Muzzio, and second-rower Leandro Cedaro. Mensa, Muzzio and Sordoni are capped by Los Pumas. Sordoni has three test caps.

France will be the third country in which Sordoni has played professional rugby. He previously played Super Rugby for Los Jaguares in Argentina and for the Melbourne Rebels in Australia.
