Major League Rugby Preseason Week 1 guide

The Major League Rugby regular season is now just two weeks away and preseason games officially get underway in Chula Vista on Friday afternoon. Four games are scheduled to take place this weekend, two each on Friday and Saturday.

 

SAN DIEGO LEGION vs AUSTIN GILGRONIS
Friday, January 21, 13:00 local (16:00 Eastern)

This scrimmage will now take place at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, where both sides have been training this week. Neither team has posted a lineup at the time of writing. Fans cannot attend but a live stream will be available on YouTube, link here.

 

OLD GLORY DC vs TORONTO ARROWS
Friday, January 21, 20:00 local (17:00 Pacific)

Fans will be in attendance for this indoor clash at The St. James in Springfield, but there will be no live stream. Updates will be provided on social media. This will also be a scrimmage with open substitutions. Old Glory have named a lineup while the Arrows have provided a match day squad.

SEATTLE SEAWOLVES vs SEATTLE RUGBY CLUB

The only game involving a non-MLR side this weekend will see the Seawolves hosting the local Seattle Rugby Club, a team that has supplied numerous players to the professional club. Fans will be in attendance but there will not be a live stream provided, with updates instead available on social media. EDIT: The Seawolves starting lineup has been added below.

Through the turmoil of losing their Head Coach this week, the Jackals will take the field for the first time as a team at AVEVA Stadium in Houston on Saturday evening. Neither team has identified a player roster at the time of writing. Fans will be in attendance and there will also be a live stream provided on the SaberCats YouTube page, link here.
