Colombia and Late Changes to RWC Repechage

Colombia’s upcoming RWC qualifiers have been impacted. World Rugby has confirmed that Hong Kong and Samoa will miss the upcoming tournaments to determine who will compete at the 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

The changes see Kazakhstan automatically qualifying for the Final Qualification Tournament to join Colombia and Scotland. The tournament will involve three teams rather than the intended four.

World Rugby has determined that Scotland will play one match, that being against the winner of Colombia vs Kazakhstan. The decision is based on rankings. The Colombia vs Kazakhstan fixture will thus be a Semi Final. It is to take place on February 19.

The Kazakhstan v Colombia will will advance to face Scotland in the final on February 25. The winner of the final will qualify for the Women’s World Cup.
