Jamaica Men to play World Sevens Series events in Spain

Jamaica’s Men’s team will take part in the World Sevens Series events in Spain over the next two weekends, World Rugby have confirmed. Pandemic restrictions have seen New Zealand and Samoa drop out entirely with Fiji likely to miss the Malaga tournament.

Germany have also been summoned to help fill the roster but there is no replacement for Fiji, with their fixtures to be recorded as 0-0 results should they be unable to compete. Both Germany and Jamaica played in the 2021 World Series events in Vancouver and Edmonton.

In the Women’s bracket Belgium have replaced New Zealand and again there is no replacement for Fiji, who have confirmed they will take no part in Malaga. Both the USA and Canada will have bye matches in the pool stage as a result.
