ATL re-signs Harley Davidson and Eamonn Matthews

Harley Davidson is set to speed down the sidelines once again for Rugby ATL. The 28-year-old winger’s return for the 2022 Major League Rugby season is now official, as is a new deal for 24-year-old scrumhalf Eamonn Matthews.

It was a frustrating year for Davidson, whose 2021 campaign ended abruptly after being injured just 28 minutes into the season opener against the Toronto Arrows. In three seasons prior, the first two with Glendale, he was among MLR’s most prolific try scorers with 16 in 29 appearances.

Matthews was on ATL’s books in 2020 but had to wait until 2021 to make his professional debut. He made two appearances last season, both as a replacement. The USA u20 select again finds stiff competition for the No9 shirt as Rowan Gouws, Ryan Rees, and Duncan van Schalkwyk also return this year.
