Pumas Riding High for Edinburgh in URC

Pumas are riding high for Edinburgh in the United Rugby Championship (URC). Rosario’s Emiliano Boffelli and Tucumán’s Ramiro Moyano were both try scorers for the Scottish side in the latest round of the URC.

In a battle of the Scottish and Welsh capital cities, Edinburgh were 34-10 winners over Cardiff. The Argentines both touched down in the try zone in the opening ten minutes. Boffelli also landed two conversions and a penalty to come away with 12 points.

The win sees Edinburgh at the top of the URC for the first time since 2009. Since then the competition has been rebranded on more than one occasion and expanded from being a Celtic-League to include teams from Italy and South Africa.

Many Edinburgh players are likely to feature for Scotland in the July Internationals. The Northern British side will tour Argentina for three test matches. The form of Boffelli and Moyano gives the selectors plenty of reasons for them to face Scotland in the series.
