Four returning players confirmed by Old Glory

Old Glory DC have confirmed new deals for four players ahead of the 2022 Major League Rugby season. Forwards trio Mo Katz, Dacoda Worth, and Josh Brown are joined by versatile back Owen Sheehy.

Katz struggled with injury this year and managed just two late-season appearances as a replacement. Though normally a hooker, the 27-year-old was used as a loose forward. After not seeing game time in the shortened 2020 season, he made his MLR debut against the Toronto Arrows in Week 16.

Worth also made his professional bow in the same game against the Arrows and would feature in each of the last three games of the season. The 30-year-old flanker retired from active duty with the US Army in 2020 but represented the branch at the RugbyTown 7s during the MLR off-season.

The 2021 campaign was Brown’s third with Old Glory, including the 2019 exhibition series. He was an ever-present in match day rosters with 13 appearances and 5 starts, all at the No8 position. The 33-year-old was recently appointed Head Coach of local Division 1 club Rocky Gorge.

Despite seeing limited action, Sheehy enjoyed a rapid rise in his first season as a professional. The 22-year-old mimicked Worth in making his MLR debut against Toronto and playing the final three matches as a replacement. Sheehy was then named on the USA Selects roster for the Americas Pacific Challenge. He is primarily a flyhalf but also covers center and fullback.
