Rugby ATL re-signs outside back Te Rangatira Waitokia

Rugby ATL have announced the re-signing of outside back Te Rangatira Waitokia for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old New Zealand Sevens international proved a key attacking player in the club’s drive towards an Eastern Conference title.

Waitokia appeared in 13 games for the Ratlers but missed out on the Championship Final against the LA Giltinis due to injury. His versatility was on full display with four starts each at outside center, left wing, and fullback, and one at right wing.

It’s at wing or fullback where Waitokia should feature primarily in 2022. Other options on the wing include Harley Davidson, Jeremy Misailegalu, and Jalen Tatum. Martini Talapusi and new signing Joaquín de la Vega Mendía can both play fullback, while Austin White covers both positions.
