Guido Petti signs long-term extension with Bordeaux

Pumas forward Guido Petti has signed a three-year contact extension with Bordeaux Bègles, tying him to the Top 14 club through the 2024-2025 campaign. His original contract, signed in 2020, was due to expire at the end of the current season.

Petti has been a leading player for Bordeaux since his arrival, playing 27 games across all competitions despite missing many weeks due to international commitments. All but one have been starts, with 21 of those appearances coming in the 2020-2021 season.

Though nearly all of his 66 caps for Argentina have been at lock, the 6’4″ (1.94m) forward has notably been preferred as a blindside flanker by Bordeaux manager Christophe Urios. Petti started on the side of the scrum for Los Pumas against South Africa in August, but his only other test starts as a flanker came against Ireland and France on the end-of-year tour in 2018.
