Dallas Jackals book preseason match with Houston SaberCats

The Dallas Jackals have uprights installed at their home pitch of Choctaw Stadium, and now they have a preseason game confirmed. It will be a road fixture against Texas neighbors Houston, with the SaberCats playing host at AVEVA Stadium on Saturday, January 22.

Dallas were officially confirmed as an expansion side by Major League Rugby in December 2019, with the intention of launching in 2021. A playing roster was assembled but in January of last year the team pulled out of the season and deferred their entry to 2022, citing problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Jackals have now confirmed their senior squad of 31 players for the upcoming campaign, with an additional 9 players signed on development contracts. Their regular season begins on February 5 at the home of another Texas Cup rival, the Austin Gilgronis.
