Seasons Greetings from Americas Rugby News

What a year this has been. A step in the right direction from what was a traumatic 2020 for most, but the pandemic continues to deliver surprises with further disruptions already affecting the rugby calendar over the holiday period and for the coming year.

The good news is that both Major League Rugby and the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby have weathered the storm and are moving ahead with another season in 2022. MLR has done amazingly well with no cancelled games in 2021 and a new team set to take the field. SLAR will once again play in localized bubbles and while it has not expanded, all six teams are continuing.

Here at Americas Rugby News things are much the same for now. We will continue to provide complete coverage of MLR, SLAR, and all international and professional rugby across the Americas. The Rugby World Cup Sevens takes place in September and New Zealand hosts the flagship Women’s 15-a-side tournament in October. There are spots at RWC 2023 up for grabs, and of course… an historic announcement in May we are all eagerly anticipating.

Now in our 7th year of existence (it’s hard to believe!), we once again thank you for continuing to visit ARN. Best wishes for this holiday season and here’s to a prosperous and healthy 2022!
