Rugby ATL have re-signed outside backs Austin White and Jalen Tatum for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. They return under widely differing circumstances – White started at fullback in the Championship Final against the LA Giltinis, while Tatum did not make a regular season appearance in 2021.
White was a replacement in the season opener against Toronto but did not get his first start of the campaign until the 8th game of the season against New England. He played two games at left wing before switching to the No15 shirt in four of the last five games of the year. The 28-year-old made one start for the Ratlers in 2020.
Tatum, 23, was initially signed as a flanker, having switched his focus to rugby after playing lacrosse for Kennesaw State. Over the course of the year the 6’5″ (1.95m) athlete moved to the wing and was included in the USA Rugby High Performance camp held at Infinity Park in Glendale.
