Dallas signs flanker Moe Abdelmonem from Austin

The Dallas Jackals have signed openside flanker Moe Abdelmonem for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. He makes the move from Austin, where he has played since arriving from Canada in 2019.

Abdelmonem is considered one of the top breakdown specialists in MLR, leading the league in turnovers in his debut season. This past year saw him featuring in five games for the AG’s, with an injury suffered late in the Week 10 game against LA putting an early stop to his campaign.

Canadian-eligible on long-term residency, Abdelmonem has trained with the national side but has yet to make a test debut. The 29-year-old could feature in a Jackals back row alongside Scotland Sevens select Charlie McKill and Argentina XV representative Conrado Roura.
