Old Glory signs Dom Bailey from Austin, re-signs Simi Moala

Old Glory DC have confirmed the signing of flanker Dom Bailey for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old flanker makes the move east after three years in Austin. At the same time DC have confirmed the re-signing of midfielder Simi Moala.

Bailey was a regular for Austin during the 2019 campaign but then missed the entirety of the shortened 2020 season with a knee injury. He returned in 2021 to make 12 appearances for the AG’s, including 9 starts. Noted for his tackling proficiency, Bailey can play either side of the scrum in a blindside-openside or left-right flanker configuration.

Moala made three appearances for Old Glory in his first season as a professional. The 30-year-old Tongan-born center is the younger brother of former USA Selects center Pita Moala. Simi previously played collegiate football for the Southern Virginia Knights.
