Rugby New York confirms Sam Windsor signing

Rugby New York have confirmed the long-rumored signing of flyhalf Sam Windsor for the 2022 season. Major League Rugby’s all-time points scoring leader makes the move from the Houston SaberCats, with whom he had been since their inception in 2017.

Windsor holds the distinction of having started all 45 MLR Houston games, playing 99% of all possible minutes. In that time he has scored 362 points off the kicking tee in addition to 14 tries scored.

The 34-year-old appeared at flyhalf, inside center, and fullback for the SaberCats this past season but should slot in at No10 for New York. He fills the gap left by 2021 starter Dan Hollinshead’s move to France. Windsor is the first new signing announced by New York for the upcoming campaign.
