Old Glory extensions for Danny Thomas and Cory Daniel

Old Glory DC duo Danny Thomas and Cory Daniel have signed contract extensions through the 2022 Major League Rugby season. Both players made their professional debuts in 2021.

Thomas, 27, signed on from Belmont Shore ahead of this past season. He quickly established himself as primary backup to Samoan international Danny Tusitala, appearing 10 times as a replacement. The English-born scrumhalf is Eagles-eligible having lived in the USA for more than a decade.

Daniel joined Old Glory’s training group in 2020 but did not break into the senior MLR squad until this past year. A collegiate wrestler, the 26-year-old flanker played 8 games with 5 starts. He joined the USA’s High Performance group in the off-season and was named in the USA Selects squad for the Americas Pacific Challenge but did not make a match day appearance at the tournament.
