Argentine front-rower Nicolás Toth will continue his career in France. The 20-year-old has signed for Provence. He makes the move to the Pro D2 in the same year that he played in the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) for the unbeaten Jaguares XV.
Toth’s contract with Provence is as a medical joker for the 2021-2022 Pro D2 season. Provence are presently in 9th position out of 16 teams competing for the right to win promotion to the Top 14.
Nicolás Toth has international honors for Argentina. He played for Argentina u20s and at the senior level for the national next-of-XV, the Argentina XV. He is a prodcut of Lomas Athletic in Buenos Aires.
Toth’s regular position is loose head prop though he has playing experience at hooker. He will join fellow former Jaguares XV front-rower Federico Wegryzn at Provence. The club is also presently home to Uruguayan World Cup hooker Germán Kessler and former Pumas flanker Tomás de la Vega.
South American input is certain for Toth at Provence. This is furthered by Mauricio Reggiardo. The former Pumas tight head prop is head coach of the team.
Toth and Wegryzn are not the only Argentine front-rowers in the Pro D2. Hookers José Luis González and Martín Vaca play for Mont de Marsan and Narbonne. Victor Damian Arias plays for Bressane while Pumas loose head Carlos Muzzio plays for Mont de Marsan.
