Free Jacks sign USA lock prospect Javon Camp-Villalovos

The New England Free Jacks have signed second row Javon Camp-Villalovos on a one-year deal for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. A collegiate football player with the Bethune Cookman Wildcats, the 22-year-old recently returned to rugby with the Rhinos academy in Sacramento.

Camp-Villalovos was immediately accepted into the USA High Performance program based in Glendale, Colorado. He was then selected for the USA Selects side that travelled to Uruguay in October for the Americas Pacific Challenge, though he did not make a match day appearance.

The Free Jacks have now confirmed three specialist locks for the new campaign including incumbent captain Josh Larsen. Stan van den Hoven has arrived from the Netherlands by way of New Zealand, while Jackson Thiebes and Ronan McCusker have departed.
