LA signs former Brumbies prop Les Leulua’iali’i-Makin

The LA Giltinis have signed former Brumbies prop Les Leulua’iali’i-Makin on a three-year deal through the 2024 Major League Rugby season. A former Australia u20 starter, the 29-year-old is qualified to play for Canada through his late father and Samoa through his mother.

Following the 2012 Junior World Championship Leulua’iali’i-Makin played for the Canberra Vikings in the National Rugby Championship and made the jump to Super Rugby in 2016. He was a regular in match day squads over four seasons before an Achilles injury ruled him out of the entire 2020 campaign.

Leulua’iali’i-Makin first played with the Kurita Water Gush in Japan during the 2019 off-season and joined the team again earlier this year. Though primarily a tighthead prop, he has also played loosehead at the professional level and joins former schoolmate Charlie Abel in LA.
