Grenoble sign Jaguares XV captain Felipe Ezcurra

French club Grenoble have signed Felipe Ezcurra. In doing so, the club is home home to the Ezcurra brothers. Felipe Ezcurra joins Bautista Ezcurra at the Pro D2 side. The brothers are both capped by Argentina and both previously played Super Rugby for Los Jaguares.

The move comes after rivals Provence had previously been in talks with Felipe Ezcurra.

Now with the destination of Grenoble, Felipe Ezcurra will continus his professional career in a new country. Ezcurra captained the Argentine side to the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) title this year. The team was undefeated.

Bautista Ezcurra is playing his first season in the league. He joined Grenoble from Major League Rugby (MLR) finalists Rugby ATL.

The older of the brothers, Felipe Ezcurra moves to France at the age of 28. He does so with 13 test caps to his name. He started for his country in the opening match of the 2021 Rugby Championship. He also started in the 2020 draw against Australia in Sydney. He had a try assist in that match; setting-up Bautista Delguy.

Felipe Ezcurra’s professional career previously includes Super Rugby and a stint in England with the Leicester Tigers. His contract with Grenoble is until June 2024.
