Argentine flier Julián Domínguez joins Austin from NOLA Gold

Austin is the new home of Argentine flier Julián Domínguez. The Texan capital side have acquired the talented winger from Major League Rugby rivals NOLA Gold. Domínguez was in New Orleans for the 2020 and 2021 MLR seasons. There he established himself as one of the deadliest finishers in the MLR.

Domínguez had a solid resumé before arriving in MLR. He had played for the Pumitas u20, senior non-capped Argentina XV, and Pumas Sevens sides. The 25-year-old winger scored a team-leading 9 tries in 14 games for NOLA in 2021.

Originally Domínguez came from the Pucurá club in Buenos Aires, who have produced a number of World Cup Pumas including Lucas Borges, Lucas González Amorosino, and Bautista Delguy. Remarkably all are wingers as is Manuel Montero who played for the Toronto Arrows in 2021. The club also produced second row Rimas Álvarez Kairelis who finished third with Los Pumas at RWC 2007 and won a Top 14 title with Perpignan two years later.
