Old Glory have re-signed Fijian international Apisai Naikatini for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 36-year-old second row will play in his third season with the DC side and fourth all told in MLR. He was part of the title-winning Seattle Seawolves side in 2019.
Naikatini’s outstanding form in the second half of the season earned the extension. In three of the last four games he played all 80 minutes, and would finish the season with 14 appearances including a dozen starts. He enters the new season with 33 MLR caps.
With Stan South already confirmed, Old Glory now have two of their most active locks from this past season signed on. Tevita Naqali was also a frequent starter and while Casey Renaud made no starts he was a replacement on ten occasions. David Beach did made a regular season appearance.
