Samu Manoa will stay on for another year with the Seattle Seawolves. The former US Eagles star has re-signed for a third Major League Rugby campaign having returned in 2021 from a long hiatus.
After skipping out on the entirety of the 2020 season, Manoa unexpectedly re-joined the Seawolves in late March of last year and went on to start seven games. The 36-year-old last played international rugby in 2018 but remains an imposing figure on both sides of the ball with the ability to play lock, blindside flanker, or No8.
Manoa’s versatility and experience gives the team strength in depth across the second and back rows heading into 2022. Rhyno Herbst and Victor Comptat are lock specialists with Ben Landry and Brad Tucker also options on the blindside flank. Nakai Penny, Travis Larsen, Tommy Clark, and Riekert Hattingh are the loose forward contingent confirmed to date.
