Rugby ATL signs Argentine flyhalf Joaquín de la Vega Mendía

Rugby ATL continue to prepare for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The club has made a notable signing; Joaquín de la Vega Mendía joins the team from Argentina.

The 22-year-old will make the move north to Atlanta, Georgia, from Hindú in the URBA Top 12. It sees Rugby ATL replacing one Argentine and Hindú play-maker with another. Bautista Ezcurra played for the club last season. He is now in France with Grenoble.

de la Vega Mendía has representative honors for Argentina. He played in the 2018 and 2019 Junior World Championships. The second tournament saw him and Nicolás Roger as Argentinas play-making options. Roger played the 2021 SLAR season for Los Cafeteros Pro. The move to the MLR means de la Vega Mendía will not be considered for the 2022 SLAR season.
