Old Glory signs Jake Ilnicki from Seattle

Old Glory DC have signed Canadian international Jake Ilnicki for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old tighthead prop arrives from the Seattle Seawolves and fills the gap left by the departure of Steven Longwell to RFU Championship side Jersey Reds.

Ilnicki has been a regular in match day squads for the Seawolves since arriving part-way through the 2019 season. He made 12 appearances for the side this past year including 4 starts, largely splitting game time with Tim Metcher on the right side of the scrum.

Prior to his Seattle move Ilnicki played professionally in Australia, New Zealand, and England. He also suited up for the San Diego Breakers in the 2016 PRO Rugby season. In November Ilnicki started against Portugal to win his 42nd cap for Canada.
