Emilie Bydwell named Head Coach of Women’s Eagles Sevens

Former USA international Emilie Bydwell has been named Head Coach of the USA Women’s Eagles Sevens. The 36-year-old was unanimously approved by a five-person panel top succeed Chris Brown, who stepped down from the role following the Tokyo Olympics.

Originally from Montreal, Québec, Bydwell earned Collegiate All-American honors while at Brown University and made her senior test debut against England in 2008. She would earned selection to the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, and also the 2013 World Cup Sevens.

Bydwell coached for Atavus and was named USA Rugby Coach of the Year in 2016. Two years later she was appointed as USA Rugby’s General Manager of Women’s High Performance, and most recently acted as Interim Head Coach for the Women’s Eagles at the Fast Four events in Vancouver and Edmonton.
