Arrows sign prop Isaac Salmon, re-sign Flesch and Rowland

The Toronto Arrows have announced the signing of tighthead prop Isaac Salmon for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. At the same time contract extensions have been confirmed for returning players Mason Flesch and Tyler Rowland, both of whom represented Canada in 2021.

Salmon arrives from the Tasman Mako in New Zealand as a replacement for the departed Gastón Cortes. The 25-year-old has been part of the senior provincial squad for the past five seasons. He was named in the Blues squad for the 2018 Super Rugby season but did not make a match day appearance.

Rowland joins Salmon, Marc-Antoine Ouellet, and new arrival Bryce Worden as No3 options for the Arrows in 2022. Now 22 years old, the Mississauga native played 12 games in his second MLR season including 7 starts. He made his test debut for Canada against Wales in July and now has 6 test caps.

This was the first year as a professional for Flesch. Hailing from Cobourg, like Rowland he has only just turned 22. Flesch played 10 games for the Arrows with 7 starts, playing both blindside flanker and lock. He won two caps for Canada in 2021, coming on as a replacement against the USA and Belgium.
