Seven MLR players named in Super Rugby squads for 2022

Rosters for the 2022 Super Rugby season have been revealed with seven players included who have featured in Major League Rugby. The February 18 start sees a return to the 12-team format and the introduction of two sides representing the Pacific Island nations of Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga.

Leading the way are the Fijian Drua with four players from 2021 named. Tighthead props Manasa Saulo and Samu Tawake joined the team from Rugby ATL and Rugby United New York respectively. Also making the move are versatile backs Seru Vularika from the LA Giltinis and Tuidraki Samusamuvodre from the New England Free Jacks.

The Brumbies signed up San Diego Legion outside back Cameron Clark. Former Toronto Arrows prop Richie Asiata has been selected as a hooker by the Queensland Reds. Lastly former Colorado Raptors No8 and new Samoa cap Sam Slade is one of the loose forwards included by Moana Pasifika.
