Arrows re-sign Ciulini and de la Vega, Worden commits

The Toronto Arrows have confirmed the re-signings of international duo Paul Ciulini and Tomás de la Vega for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. At the same time 2021 Collegiate Draft pick Bryce Worden has formally committed to the side.

Ciulini has been a staple in Arrows lineups as a tighthead lock specialist in each of their three MLR seasons. He made 13 appearances in 2021 including 11 starts, with his totals now reading 34 games played with 31 starts. The 26-year-old joins returnee Adrian Wadden and new signing Kyle Baillie as second row options signed to date.

The return of de la Vega is a relief to Arrows fans, with the Argentine back row recently taking up a contract with Provence as a medical joker. He will return from France for a third campaign with Toronto and the 31-year-old will again be a leading player having started 19 of 21 games since his arrival.

Worden was selected as the 17th overall pick in the second round of this year’s draft. At 26 he was the oldest player selected, arriving from the UBC Thunderbirds. A Canada u20 representative in 2015, the tighthead prop joins fellow Sussex, New Brunswick, native Cole Keith in the Arrows front row stable.
