Americas Rankings – November 14, 2021

The Americas Rankings is an exclusive on Americas Rugby News. The rankings compare the men’s test teams from throughout the Americas. Matches recognized as caps are used for the rankings. Teams yet to compete since the Americas Rankings began are listed with 30.00 points.

The Americas were represented by Argentina and Canada on Saturday and Brazil and Uruguay on Sunday. Of the four matches three were test matches. These three count towards the rankings. Uruguay’s match was uncapped due to it being against Italy ‘A’ rather than Italy’s test side.

Canada’s 24-0 win over Belgium corresponds to a maximum points exchange. As such, Canada end 2021 on a high. They gain 1.30 points to rise from 60.50 to 61.80 points. It means a rise above Hong Kong in the World Rankings.

Argentina were 37-16 winners over Italy. As noted in regards to Canada’s road victory over Belgium, the win was by more than 15 points which means the visitors gain the maximum in the points exchange. Argentina rise from 80.30 to 80.80 in the updated rankings.

Brazil fell to a 24-22 defeat against Zimbabwe. The Sunday fixture was part of the Stellenbosch Challenge. Brazil were pnished for starting slowly. The final score sees Brazil losing 1.561 points. As such, the updated rankings see Brazil now on 54.76 points. This is a fall from 56.32. Brazil will have an opportunity to rise again next weekend when they face Kenya.

The Americas Rankings will be recalculated again following the completion of international competition next weekend.
