Brazil names Yaras squad for Valentín Martínez 7s

Brazil has named a squad of 12 to participate in the Valentín Martínez Sevens. The two-day tournament begins on Friday, November 11, and will take place at the Carrasco Polo club in Montevideo.

Ten teams will compete with a chance to qualify for the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens on offer. The two finalist will earn spots for the tournament to be hosted in Cape Town. As Yaras will compete in Pool A along with Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and hosts Uruguay. Pool B consists of Chile, Colombia, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru.

Luiza Campos will captain a strong group that includes eight members of the Olympic roster, among them World Sevens Series veterans Raquel Kochhann, Thalia Costa, and top try scorer Bianca Silva. Playmaker Isadora Carullo recently featured at the Premier Rugby Sevens event in Memphis.
