Americas Rankings – November 07, 2021

The Americas Rankings is an exclusive on Americas Rugby News. The rankings compare the men’s test teams from throughout the Americas. Matches recognized as caps are used for the rankings. Teams yet to compete since the Americas Rankings began are listed with 30.00 points.

The Americas were represented by Canada and Argentina on Saturday and by Uruguay earlier today. All three teams were beaten by European opposition. Canada fell to a first ever loss against Portugal, Argentina lost to France in Paris and Uruguay were beaten by Romania in Italy.

Canada’s defeat in Lisbon sees the North American suffering a slight loss in rankings points. The updated rankings see Canada down from 60.71 to 60.51 points. Argentina’s updated points are a loss from 80.69 to 80.31 points. Neither country sees changes in their positions.

Uruguay’s result is different. In falling to the Eastern Europeans, Uruguay are down from 67.60 to 66.46 points. This corresponds to a fall below the USA in Americas Rankings and a two place fall in the World Rankings from 16th to 18th in the world.

International competition will take place again next weekend. Argentina face Italy in Treviso on while Canada take-on Belgium in Brussels. Both matches are on Saturday. Uruguay will play in a non-capped match against Italy ‘A’ in Padua on Sunday. That fixture will not be capped though the Americas will be represented on Sunday as Brazil face Zimbabwe in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
