Stan South returns for second season with Old Glory

Old Glory DC have announced the re-signing of second row Stan South for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The former England u20 starter made a strong impression in his first season with the club in 2021 after arriving from French Top 14 club Brive.

South made his Old Glory debut as a replacement in Week 2 against Rugby ATL and he would start 9 games following, sitting out one game due to suspension. The 25-year-old was DC’s top lineout target and an abrasive figure in the loose. A knee injury would see him miss the last four games of the season.

Seven players have now been confirmed by Old Glory for the 2022 campaign, including six returnees. Loosehead prop Jack Iscaro, No8 Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz, midfielders Thretton Palamo and Doug Fraser, and versatile back Mike Dabulas continue on with DC. Rugby league international Junior Sa’u is the first newcomer announced.
