Dallas Jackals sign Premiership prop Ryan Bower

The Dallas Jackals have announced the signing of Ryan Bower for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. A former England u20 international, the 30-year-old arrives with a decade of professional experience largely in the English Premiership.

Bower debuted with Leicester Tigers at the age of 19 in 2010. He would spend three seasons on loan with Championship club Nottingham before signing for Worcester Warriors in 2014. At Sixways he was a regular starter with over 100 appearances for the club across all competitions.

A return to Leicester came in late 2019 but after limited appearances in the 2020-21 season Bower joined London Irish on a short-term contract, where he did not make any senior appearances. He follows fellow Premiership veterans Chris Pennell and Henry Trinder to Dallas.

Though capable of playing tighthead, Bower has been primarily a loosehead throughout his professional career. He joins former Utah regular Alex Tucci and Canadian international Liam Murray as senior props revealed to date with Timothy Ohlwein and Tayé Olagunju signed on development contracts.
